of 8 brothers and sisters and Mom had 10 and daddy had 12 brothers and sisters. Am I by brother's keeper? Genesis 4:9
Thank
you for visiting...hopefully you enjoy Southern hospitality...
In our culture, music
is a powerful way to touch people on an intellectual, emotional
and spiritual level. Because of this -- I have made a commitment to
selecting contemporary music with relevant messages.
My family of eight brothers and sisters is a large family. My daddy had twelve brothers and sisters - six boys and six girls. My mother had ten brothers and sisters - four sisters and six brothers.
My siblings are Charles, Lois Marie, Ronald, George Dennis, Vicky Ruth, Farah Harriet and Sheila Ann. All live close to Opelousas in Saint Landry Parish where we were all born except Lois and Vicky -- who live South of Dallas, Texas in Midlothian, Texas and Sheila who died a tragic death at the age of 19.
We all enjoy fishing very much -- in the Gulf of
Mexico, Atchafalaya River or the many Bayou's.
My dad's siblings were born in Pointe Coupee' Parish on the East side of the Atchafalaya River to sharecroppers on large Southern Plantations. As you can see - not only blacks - but white folks were sharecroppers also.
My mom's siblings were born to the plantation sharecropper life in Saint Landry Parish and Avoyelles Parish on the West side of the Atchafalaya River on the Woodside Plantation. My Grandpa - Dorestan' Dupre - was a good farmer and his family lived well. He was a direct descendant of the Dupre's from Nova Scotia, Canada that the British ran way to South Louisiana.
Standing in the restaurant, her head
swimming with the odor of french fries and
the strangeness of the moment, Prunty met
the young redhead who would become her
husband's second wife, her "sister-wife."
He that hath wife and children hath given hostages to fortune: for they are impediments to great enterprises, either of virtue or mischief. - Francis Bacon |
